Race information:
Where:
Westbrook Christian School, Rainbow City, Alabama,
35906. In front of main building.
8 a.m.
5K (3.1 mile) road race. Runner
and walker friendly. Flat, certified, safe course. No rollerblades, pets,
strollers or head sets.
9:15 a.m. Fun Run - 1 mile.
Course:
5K is a three loop course that will be run
clockwise. It is flat and fast. Parts of the course will be marked with cones.
All participants will be asked to use the right half of the road. Water will be
available along the course at 3 times.
Awards:
Given for top three overall male and female (Overall
= $100 2nd = $75
3rd = $50), male and female masters winners (40+), and male and female
grand masters winners (50+) plus top three in each age group (age groups are
done in 5 year segments). Fun Run participants will all receive a ribbon. There
will also be an award for largest team and best team overall time (all male, all
female, and co-ed). Top three team members times will be totaled and lowest time
of totaled times will receive an award. Teams must be comprised of three people
or more (no other size limit). Awards will be presented followed immediately by
doorprizes. You must be present to win doorprizes. Awards and doorprizes will be
given out after the Fun Run.
Race Fee:
Race fee will be $18 pre-registered and $20 day of
race.(Anniston Runners Club members receive a $2 discount.)
Weather:
It is recommended you check the weather and wear
appropriate clothing for conditions. Go to www.myfoxal.com/myfox . We will run
in the rain.
Packet pick up:
At
Gold's Gym all day Friday, March 26th (until 8 p.m.) and at race site March
27th beginning at 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. Late registration fees
will be applied after March 24th. Race t-shirts will be available to those who
register by March 13th. Registrations received after March 13th will be able to
pick their shirts up at Gold’s Gym at a later date All shirts will be cotton and
short sleeve.
Training:
Training runs and training program information to
prepare for this race will be available at Gold's Gym and at the race website.
Post-race:
Food, drink and health and fitness expo.
Babysitting:
Babysitting will be available at this race during
the 5K event. We must know if you require this by March 14th so we can have
enough help to properly take care of your children. Please pick your children up
within 15 minutes of finishing the 5K race.
Directions:
From Attalla
take Highway 77 or Grand
Avenue turn right at the four way where Devan Lowe dealership is located.
From Southside and Rainbow City
take Highway 77 or Grand Avenue turn left at four way where Devan Lowe car
dealership is located.
From Anniston and/or 431
take left at Green Valley Road to Pilgrim's Rest and make right. follow to Hwy
77 in South side and make right. Go over bridge and then through light at 411.
Next light will be at Devan Lowe car dealership and make left.
From Gadsden, Centre, Glencoe, and Hokes Bluff
take 411 or Rainbow Drive south to the Hwy 77 intersection then make right
towards Attalla. At next light (approx. 2 miles) turn left at four way with
Devan Lowe car dealership.
From I-59 take exit 181 south to Rainbow
City. At four way with Devan Lowe car dealership, make right at light.
(All of above now use the following directions:)
Make 4th left (approximately 1/2 mile) onto
Westminister Drive. Race start and
finish will be at Westbrook Christian School on the left.
After you enter Westminister Drive make first left for parking.
Parking race day:
Parking will be available initially in the main
parking lot in front of one half of the school. Overflow parking will be further
down the block on the right (at school stadium).

Waiver information: I, individually, (and/or as a
parent, and/or guardian of the named minor) for and in consideration of
acceptance of this entry in the aforementioned event, do hereby release, remise,
waive, and forever discharge Big Oak Ranch, Gold's Gym, Keystone Foods, Inc. and
any and all other supporting groups of this said racing event, together with all
their officers, agents, officials, and employees, from any and all liability,
claims, demands, actions, or causes damage, including death, relating to any
injury, illness, loss, and further state I am in proper physical condition to
participate in this event. In addition, I agree that my participation in this
event requires that I will not participate with roller blades, skateboards,
animals, strollers, headphones, or anything with which the race director deems
dangerous to myself or other participants and that the race director may remove
me from this event for a violation of said policy. I further grant permission to
